[Hongjie Water Service] EDI Equipment Operation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions

The good long-term operation of EDI equipment not only depends on the initial design of the system, but also on correct operation and maintenance. This includes the initial start-up and start-up/shutdown of the system during operation. In order to maintain the long-term good operation of the system, it is necessary to regularly record the system operation data for future daily operation and maintenance. And daily operation and maintenance data are crucial for determining equipment faults and deciding what measures to take It is of great significance.

1. Check before startup by running the reverse osmosis device to ensure it is in a reflux state

Test the following indicators of EDI inlet water quality:

Secondary reverse osmosis production water from the inlet water source

Equivalent conductivity of influent water (including C02 and Si)<40 μ S/cm

Silicon<1.0 ppm as SiO2

Iron, manganese, sulfur<0.01ppm

Chlorine/chloride<0.02 ppm, calculated as C12

Hardness<1.0 ppm as CaC03

Dissolved organic matter<0.05 ppm C in T0C

PH value 4-11

Inlet pressure bar (1-45C)

Pressure difference at standard flow rate 1.4-2.1 bar

Standard recovery rate 90-95%

Inlet temperature 45C

Inlet temperature 5C

DC voltage (V) 0-600

DC current (A) 0-6

2. Check whether the flow switch action and related interlocking actions are correct (if necessary, R0 interlocking action also needs to be tested).

3. Set alarm control values.

4. Initial startup

Proper startup of EDI equipment is necessary for preparing EDI for normal operation and preventing EDI module damage due to excessive flow, water hammer, or current overload. Adhering to the following procedures can also help ensure that the system operates under the system design parameters to obtain water production that meets the design requirements. For the startup and operation of the system, the data of the first system operation is an important component. Before starting the EDI system, the installation of RO system, EDI module, calibration of instruments, and inspection of other systems should have been completed. Next is the recommended EDI system startup program.

5. EDI startup program

Before connecting the pipeline to CEDI, please confirm that all pre treatment equipment and pipelines have met the cleaning requirements.

Ensure that all pipelines connected to the CEDI module are properly connected and meet cleaning requirements.

Check that all relevant manual valves are in the correct position and open/closed state. The inlet valve, production water valve, ultra pure water tank inlet valve, and concentrated water flow control valve are fully open.

During the flushing process, check all pipeline connections and valves to ensure that there are no leaks. If necessary, lock the connection part

Confirm that the wiring from the CEDI module to the power supply module is correct.

Start the R0 production water delivery pump. Adjust the valve opening to the design flow rate and design pressure. Check the design recovery rate and actual recovery rate. Always pay attention to checking the system pressure and ensure that the system operating pressure does not exceed the maximum operating pressure limit of the module.

At the design flow rate, adjust the valve until the production water pressure is 2-5 psig higher than the concentrated water discharge pressure. Repeat the above steps until the system operates in accordance with the designed water yield and concentrated water flow rate. Calculate the system recovery rate and compare it with the design value.

Turn on the module power switch and slowly adjust the DC power supply of the display board to the desired value. Pay attention to the water quality of the effluent.

Record all operational data.

Test all flow limit switches and related interlocking actions. Ensure that when the concentrated water circulation flow is insufficient, the EDI power supply module is powered off.

Continue to keep CEDI in a circulating state until the water production index meets the requirements. Once the EDI effluent indicator meets the standard, open the EDI effluent valve (to the downstream water tank) and close the EDI effluent return valve (to the R0 water tank). Confirm again that the production water pressure is 2-5 psig higher than the concentrated water discharge pressure. Compare the system operating values with the design values; After the system runs stably (water quality and flow rate), record the operation data in the daily operation data record table. Select the operating mode in automatic mode.

In the first week of system operation, regularly check the operation of the system to ensure its normal and reliable operation.

6. Run Start

Once the EDI system has been started, (in fact, the EDI system inevitably undergoes more or less shutdowns and restarts.) Each shutdown and restart implies changes in pressure and flow, as well as mechanical impacts on the EDI module. Therefore, the number of system shutdowns and restarts should be minimized to ensure the smooth operation of the EDI system.

Inspections before and during system startup should be carried out as a daily task, and work records should be kept. The calibration, alarm, safety equipment, and pipeline leakage inspection of instruments should also be carried out as a daily task.

7. Shutdown

Adjust the current and voltage to 0 and turn off the power supply to the EDI module.

Stop the reverse osmosis production water delivery pump

Close the inlet valve of each EDI module.

Close the isolation valve of the EDI module.

8. Reboot after system shutdown

Place the operation status of the EDI system valve in the EDI cycle state;

Start the reverse osmosis water delivery pump;

Check item by item according to the EDI startup program and start the EDI system;

If necessary, please refer to the EDI supplier's documentation for sterilization and disinfection of EDI.

9. Operation records

In order to better track the operation of EDI, it is necessary to collect relevant data on EDI operation and record it in daily operation tables. In addition to being able to track the operation of EDI, operational data is valuable for diagnosing and troubleshooting EDI faults.

The above is the "Operation Fault Analysis of Ultrafiltration Equipment" introduced by Hongjie Water, hoping to be helpful to you
